look in to my eyes...and made up rhymes...

Can I hire this guy to hypnotize the baby to sleep? My own beseeching requests seem rather ineffectual...

Apart from not knowing how many days old the baby is (Nurse: How old is the baby? Me: I think about 40 days... could be 50... Amma, how old is the baby?)my other failings as a new parent include not remembering a single song or nursery rhyme. I refuse to Google for them, since I'm sure they'll come back to me at some point of time, and so till then I make them up...

Incy wincy spider climbing up the spout
down came the rain and washed away his brussel sprouts...

Hush now baby don't you cry
mommy's going to buy you A Pocket Full of Rye
and if that pocketful of rye isn't funny
daddy's going to buy you From here to Eternity
And if that movie doesn't end quick
Mommy's going to buy you Moby Dick

and in other news... Aardvarks spotted on Old McDonald's farm... what noise do Aardvarks make anyway...

wow, atleast you can rhyme.

yours truly would run out of rhymes by the third line and come up with blank verse. to my credit, i did try and keep the meter intact.

and imagine, after a year of madeup rhymes you might even have material for a book!

enjoy!

Aww...can sympathize. Don't worry, I believe babies fall into a good sleep pattern before they turn 1. (That's what I keep telling myself to maintain my sanity!)

"ark ark", of course - as in "With an ark ark here and an ark ark there, here an ark there an ark, everywhere an aardvark"... (or you could end with "everywhere an ark ark", of course) :D

I just thought it would be better to specify which animal you're 'arking at :D

It will all be worth it Shoef. It will all be worth it, when we see them leave home in 20 odd years.

Heh! I loved the rhymes. Brussel Sprouts deserve to be washed away. Foul creatures.

I think "raaawwwr" sounds about right :D

Don't be so hard on yourself. I think no one remembers nursery rhymes after they are 10. Well, not unless you are me. I get earworms out of them. One of the side effects of being forced to listen to Preeti Sagar tapes at 10. And not to mention the unfortunate experience of having to repeat LKG.

Having grown up on Preeti Sagar and Sharon Prabhakar teaching me multiplication tables, I think your rhymes are infinitely cooler. Can you do rhymes about woodchucks, komodo dragons and other such marginalised creatures? I think cows and ducks have got top billing (little pun)long enuff...what say?
